Authorities in Oregon have confirmed the identities of the three individuals who lost their lives in a tragic small plane accident near Portland. The victims are pilot Michael Busher, aged 73; flight instructor Jacqueline Whitford, 79; and Fairview resident Barbara MacDonald, 75, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. The accident involved a Cessna 421C, which crashed during a maintenance test flight last Saturday morning in Fairview, approximately 30 minutes east of downtown Portland. The plane went down about five minutes after taking off from Troutdale Airport, as reported by the National Transportation Safety Board.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered multiple townhomes engulfed in flames. They conducted door-to-door evacuations and used garden hoses to control the fires until firefighters arrived. Troutdale Airport, managed by the Port of Portland, is noted for its flight training and recreational activities.
