Julie A. Tibbits dies in fatal Shawnee County car crash

Fatal Shawnee County car crash claims the life of Julie A. Tibbits, 45, of Topeka – Obituary.

Julie A. Tibbits, 45, of Topeka, lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on Sunday in northeast Shawnee County, according to a statement from the local sheriff’s office.

 

The names, ages, and genders of four other individuals injured in the crash have not been disclosed to the public.

 

Deputies responded to the accident at the intersection of N.E. 62nd and Kincaid Road shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday. Upon their arrival, Tibbits was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Abigail Christian from the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

 

The four injured individuals were transported by American Medical Response to a hospital in Topeka for treatment.

 

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the fatal accident. The incident involved a Dodge sedan carrying two passengers traveling south on N.E. Kincaid Road, and a Buick SUV with four passengers heading south on N.E. 62nd Street.

 

As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been made available.
