Fatal Town of Rutland crash claims the life of Rachel Hoeft, 33 – Obituary.
A 20-year-old driver now faces felony charges after a deadly crash in the Town of Rutland on August 22nd.
The incident, which occurred around 9:40 p.m. in the 300 block of Lake Kegonsa Road, tragically resulted in the death of 33-year-old Rachel Hoeft of Fort Atkinson.
Hoeft, a passenger in the vehicle, was rushed to a hospital following the crash and passed away from her injuries on August 27.
The driver, identified as Darien Johnson, was arrested and taken to the Dane County Jail. He is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Johnson had his initial court appearance last week, where his cash bond was set at $100,000. He is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing soon.
