Fatal Tippecanoe County car crash claims the life of Mihai Murineanu – Obituary.
Authorities have identified the two individuals killed in a crash in Tippecanoe County on Monday evening.
One of the victims has been named as 46-year-old Mihai Murineanu from Crawfordsville, who was driving a Toyota Prius.
The other victim, 28-year-old Nathanial Blake Phipps from Covington, was behind the wheel of a Chevy Blazer.
Both drivers sustained fatal blunt force injuries. Investigations into toxicology reports and the exact manner of death are ongoing.
The crash occurred just before 5:00 p.m. on County Road 800 South, situated between State Road 25 and County Road 700 West. Police reports indicate that the Chevy Blazer, traveling westbound, veered across the center line and collided head-on with the eastbound Toyota Prius. Following the impact, the Blazer overturned on the roadway while the Prius ended up in a nearby cornfield.
The accident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine further details.
