A 21-year-old man, James Sencer Bowen Jr., has been identified as the victim of a deadly shooting that took place near a business in Bessemer, Alabama.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect involved.
Officers from the Bessemer Police Department responded to a business located in the 5900 block of Greenwood Parkway around 3:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered Bowen suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot.
Bowen was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At this time, police have not made any arrests, and they do not believe this was an active shooter incident.
There has been no confirmation about whether Bowen had any connection to the business where the shooting occurred.
