Over the weekend, New Jersey saw several tragic incidents. A fatal collision on the Garden State Parkway near Woodbridge resulted in the deaths of David and Michele Dryerman, both 54, and their 17-year-old daughter, all from Woodcliff Lake. The crash occurred late Saturday night when their Tesla Model S veered off the road, hitting a sign, a guardrail, and a concrete bridge support. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
In Newark, a man was fatally shot around 8 p.m. on Saturday. The victim was taken to a local hospital, but no further details about his identity have been released, and the investigation continues.
In Red Bank, Anthony Depalma, 39, was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at the Bridge Avenue and Monmouth Street crossing around 1:30 p.m.
Additionally, a car crashed into a restaurant in Ridgewood on Friday night. A Toyota Prius went through a chain link fence and over a retaining wall into the restaurant’s back. No injuries were reported, and the restaurant sustained no damage. The cause of the crash is unknown.
In Rutherford, three individuals were hospitalized following a crash on Route 3 early Sunday morning. A Ford Range driven by Justin LaTorre, 40, collided with a Honda HRV. LaTorre, who was charged with assault by auto and driving while intoxicated, had attempted a U-turn in the westbound lanes, leading to the collision. He has been taken to the Bergen County Jail to await further proceedings.
