Jaiden Harris dies in fatal Charlotte, NC shooting
Fatal Charlotte shooting death of Jaiden Harris – Obituary.
A 12-year-old has been charged with involuntary manslaughter following the shooting of 16-year-old Jaiden Harris in northeast Charlotte, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The incident occurred on Friday, September 13, around 7 p.m. on Burnt Umber Drive, a neighborhood located approximately half a mile south of Reedy Creek Park.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Harris suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene. After an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as a 12-year-old boy, who was later charged with involuntary manslaughter and released to the custody of his parents.
Authorities have not disclosed how the shooting unfolded or whether the two boys were acquainted. Harris, who was affectionately known by the nickname “Tank,” lived in the Amberwood subdivision near Plott Road.
