Fatal Madison shooting death of Levell Douglas – Obituary
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been activated for a homicide investigation in the metro-east for the second time this month. The squad responded on Saturday after discovering the body of Levell Douglas, a 37-year-old Madison resident, in an alley off the 1600 block of Fifth Street in Madison. Douglas appears to have died from a gunshot wound, according to the Major Case Squad’s statement.
Currently, no additional information regarding the shooting has been released. The investigation is being led by Sgt. Justin Biggs from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, with sixteen investigators assigned to the case. Authorities are seeking information from the public and ask anyone with details about Douglas’ death to contact the Major Case Squad command post at 618-709-7750 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
Earlier in September, the Major Case Squad was also involved in a separate investigation where an arrest was made in the shooting death of a teenager near Cahokia Heights. David F. Hodges, 19, faces first-degree murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Damonta T. Mosley on September 9.
