Lavonte Jones dies in fatal East Garfield Park stabbing
Fatal East Garfield Park stabbing death of Lavonte Jones – Obituary
Lavonte Jones, aged 38, succumbed to his injuries days after a stabbing incident in East Garfield Park. On Wednesday, in the early hours around 3:30 a.m., Jones was walking in the 300 block of South Homan Avenue when three men approached him and began attacking him with a sharp object, according to the Chicago police.
Jones suffered significant wounds to his chest and shoulder and was transported to Mount Sinai Medical Center in critical condition. He passed away from his injuries on Sunday, as reported by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The assailants fled the scene on foot, and no arrests have been made as of now.
