Fatal Estero motorcycle crash death of Jonathan Brown – Obituary
Authorities in Lee County are collaborating with the State Attorney’s Office to investigate the motorcycle accident that claimed the life of 35-year-old Jonathan Brown, known as Jona, on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning. Currently, details remain sparse due to the extensive nature of the crash scene, but officials have confirmed that no shooting was involved. The family is still seeking clarity regarding the incident.
Around midnight, Alexandra Roman received the devastating news about her husband. She quickly made her way to the scene near mile marker 124 northbound. “His body was still lying on the floor, and it was just hard. It was hard to watch everything,” she recounted.
Brown’s body was found in the center of the interstate, leading to a closure of the northbound lanes for over 15 hours as investigators, including the Lee County Violent Crimes unit, worked on the scene. Numerous yellow evidence markers were visible throughout the area.
“As bikers, we understand the risks involved, and we know incidents like this can occur, but you never expect it to happen to you or someone close to you,” Roman expressed.
Jonathan had a deep passion for motorcycles and cars but cherished his family the most. He leaves behind a 20-year-old and a 9-year-old. “I had to tell her that Daddy wasn’t coming back home. That’s maybe the toughest thing. I never thought I would have to say that to my daughter,” Roman said.
To honor Jonathan’s memory, a celebration of life will take place this Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Mugs N Jugs Family Grill in Lehigh Acres, where funds will also be raised for his funeral expenses. “We welcome all the bikers, community, and everyone from car meets, which is what he loved to do,” Roman stated.
