Jason Michael Haynie dies in fatal Greenville, South Carolina, assault
Fatal Greenville, South Carolina, assault death of Jason Michael Haynie – Obituary.
Authorities in Greenville have reported the arrest of a suspect connected to a fatal incident that occurred downtown. The Greenville County Coroner revealed they were summoned to 128 N. Main Street on September 18, where they discovered a man unconscious on the sidewalk.
Investigators stated that the suspect, 38-year-old William Brandon Sanders, struck Haynie, causing him to fall and sustain a head injury on the pavement near City Tavern. Haynie was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital for urgent care but tragically succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, September 19.
The coroner confirmed Haynie’s identity as a 41-year-old man. Following the incident, police apprehended Sanders on charges of voluntary manslaughter with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force on the same day.
