Fatal Highland Mills shooting death of Ali Ali – Obituary
A man sought in connection with a stabbing in Brooklyn was fatally shot by state troopers in upstate New York on Wednesday. Authorities identified the victim as Ali Ali, who was shot around 2 p.m. in a heavily wooded area near Trout Brook Road, according to the New York State Police.
Prior to the shooting, troopers had attempted to stop a stolen vehicle that Ali was driving. The vehicle crashed and caught fire at milepost 49 on the New York State Thruway, north of Exit 16. Following the crash, Ali fled into the surrounding woods.
On Monday, Ali was accused of stabbing a 50-year-old woman in a laundromat in Brooklyn, as reported by the New York Post. The New York State Police had classified him as “armed and dangerous,” prompting a shelter-in-place order for local residents after he was spotted by a trail camera.
