Fatal Milton industrial accident death of Anthony T. Smith – Obituary.
A man from Milton tragically lost his life on Wednesday after he fell into a compactor at Cottrell Paper. The incident occurred just before 12:30 PM at the facility located on Rock City Road.
Smith, 42, became stuck in the machine, as reported by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Although employees at the plant and first responders from the Rock City Falls Department and Community EMS managed to extract him, their efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was declared dead at the scene.
New York State Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were present to assist with the situation. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
