An 81-year-old cyclist has passed away in Palo Alto after suffering injuries from a solo accident, according to police reports on September 19. McCalley was riding southbound on Park Boulevard when he encountered a construction zone and fell around 1:45 p.m. He sustained a severe head injury from the fall.
He was taken to Stanford Hospital, where he died on Wednesday, as confirmed by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which occurred in the section between California Avenue and Sherman Avenue.
