Delaware State Police have reported that 14-year-old Gabriel Whitley tragically lost his life early Tuesday morning after a pickup truck overturned near Felton. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. while Whitley was a passenger in a Ford F-150 driven by an unidentified individual.
According to authorities, the vehicle veered off the north side of Spectrum Farms Road and flipped over. Whitley, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time, was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old female passenger from Felton sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
