Fatal Nanticoke shooting death of Kelci Pamela Jones – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed the identity of a woman whose body was found in a neighborhood in Luzerne County. Kelci Pamela Jones, aged 36 and a resident of Nanticoke, was discovered on Tuesday morning in the yard of a home located at 213 East Ridge Street, despite not living in that area.
Local residents expressed their shock at the tragic news. One neighbor, Paulette, recounted her reaction: “I had a neighbor call to inform me. When I saw the fire trucks, I was curious about what was happening. As I approached the door, I learned they had found a body. It’s horrifying.”
Detectives from state and local agencies gathered on the 200 block of East Ridge Street to investigate. They spent several hours collecting potential evidence and also towed away an SUV from the scene.
“We’re treating this as a suspicious death until we have further evidence,” said Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce. “Numerous witnesses have been cooperative, and we hope to gather more information soon.” An autopsy was conducted, and the county coroner is expected to release further details on Wednesday.
As of now, the cause and manner of death remain undisclosed.
