Fatal Grays Harbor County river death of Colin J. Dalrymple – Obituary.
A body discovered in the Wynoochee River over the weekend has been identified. Colin J. Dalrymple, 73, from SeaTac, was recovered on Monday afternoon by the Thurston County Special Operations Rescue Team and Montesano Fire Department from a challenging section of the river, located approximately 30 miles north of Montesano, according to a statement from Grays Harbor County Coroner George Kelley.
Dalrymple’s body was spotted on Saturday by a family hiking in the area. Recovery efforts faced difficulties due to the river’s location and steep surrounding cliffs. Known as an enthusiastic fisherman by his family, an autopsy has been arranged to ascertain the cause and manner of his death. The case is being treated as accidental, with no further investigation needed, as stated by Undersheriff Kevin Schrader from the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office.
