Ricky Kemp dies in fatal Hesperia vehicle incident

Fatal Hesperia vehicle incident death of Ricky Kemp – Obituary.

A 44-year-old transient has been arrested following an incident in Hesperia where he allegedly struck and killed a 35-year-old pedestrian, Ricky Kemp, before fleeing the scene. The event occurred around 6:26 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Cataba Road and Main Street.

 

When law enforcement arrived, they found Kemp unresponsive on the road and he was declared dead at the site. Investigators determined that the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe had deliberately hit Kemp. The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division’s Homicide Detail took over the case. The abandoned vehicle was discovered in a nearby parking lot, and the driver, identified as John Wynn, was apprehended inside a local business.

 

Wynn has been charged with murder under PC 187 and is currently held without bail at the High Desert Detention Center. He is set to appear in court in Victorville on September 17, 2024.

 

Kemp’s family has created a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral expenses. He was remembered as a cherished father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.
