Fatal El Monte rollover crash death of Jose Espinoza – Obituary
Jose Espinoza, 31, was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle in a rollover crash near the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in El Monte, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The incident occurred late Wednesday night around 11:47 p.m.
Authorities from the El Monte Police Department and California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to reports of a crash on Santa Anita Avenue, near the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway, close to a bus station. According to CHP Officer Sergio Garcia, Espinoza’s vehicle veered off the road, landing in the Rio Hondo Watershed, where he was thrown from the car.
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews discovered Espinoza in the wash area, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not yet determined whether speed or alcohol played a role in the crash, and the CHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
