Paige N. Calich dies in fatal Akron shooting
Fatal Akron shooting death of Paige N. Calich – Obituary
A 24-year-old woman from Akron, identified as Paige N. Calich, was tragically shot early Sunday morning in the Summit Lake area. According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, officers were dispatched around 12:30 a.m. to a shooting incident at 14 Socrates Place. Upon their arrival, they found Calich suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso. She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the scene on foot after the incident. Captain Michael Miller, a public information officer with the Akron police, mentioned that Calich had been involved in a confrontation the previous day. It remains unclear if the shooter was connected to that earlier dispute.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
