The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday at the junction of East Kalamazoo Avenue and North Edwards Street, as noted in a statement from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

 

According to police, Ballentine was walking in the road when the collision occurred. Emergency medical personnel provided immediate care before transporting her to a local hospital, where she passed away the following day.

 

The victim, identified as 38-year-old Sarah Ballentine from Kalamazoo, has prompted heartfelt condolences from the police. “Our deepest sympathies go out to Ms. Ballentine’s family and friends during this incredibly challenging time,” they stated.
