Fatal Thunder Bay car crash death of Leigh Nunan – Obituary
A woman lost her life Thursday morning in a collision involving her vehicle and a school bus on Oliver Road. The incident was reported to the Thunder Bay Police Service shortly after 8 a.m. in the 1500 block of Oliver Road.
Fortunately, none of the students on the bus, who were en route to École Gron Morgan, suffered any injuries, as confirmed by Lakehead Public Schools. Both the Thunder Bay Police Service and the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Integrated Mobile Police Assessment Crisis Team were on-site to provide support.
As a result of the accident, a portion of Oliver Road west of the Thunder Bay Expressway has been closed, though it is anticipated to reopen later in the afternoon. Drivers are advised to steer clear of the area until the road is cleared.
The investigation is ongoing, with involvement from the Traffic Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.
