Fatal Franklin County motorcycle crash death of David Newell Jr. – Obituary.
A man lost his life following a motorcycle accident in Franklin County, as reported by Pennsylvania State Police. The incident occurred at 10:52 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, on Orrstown Road near Blind Lane in Southampton Township.
Authorities indicated that 42-year-old David Newell Jr. from Orrstown was speeding on a right curve when he veered into the opposite lane and collided with a guide rail. In his attempt to regain control, Newell was thrown off his motorcycle and struck the guide rail posts. The motorcycle continued off the roadway and into a field.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There were no other vehicles involved, and no additional injuries were reported.
