Jesel Edolen Rodriguez Amaya dies in fatal Waldorf motorcycle crash
Fatal Waldorf motorcycle crash claims the life of Jesel Edolen Rodriguez Amaya – Obituary.
On September 22, at around 12:11 a.m., authorities were alerted to a serious motorcycle accident on Old Washington Road in Waldorf. Officers arriving at the 2400 block discovered that a green 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle, driven by 16-year-old Jesel Edolen Rodriguez Amaya of Waldorf, had collided with a Ford Mustang, both traveling southbound.
Unfortunately, Amaya was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mustang stayed on-site and cooperated with authorities.
The investigation into the crash is being led by PFC D. Walker, and anyone with further information is urged to contact the Traffic Operations Unit at 301-932-3515.
Earlier updates suggested the motorcyclist was unidentified; however, later confirmation identified the victim as Jesel Edolen Rodriguez Amaya. Emergency responders at the scene reported seeing the motorcycle and debris but initially could not locate the rider. Upon further inspection, the motorcyclist was found underneath the vehicle and pronounced deceased shortly after.
