Fatal Leon Springs hit-and-run death of Jose Rocha – Obituary.
A man killed in a hit-and-run incident near Leon Springs on the Northwest Side of San Antonio has been identified as 63-year-old Jose Rocha. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Rocha’s identity following the crash, which occurred early Monday morning around 1:50 a.m. near I-10 and Boerne Stage Road.
San Antonio police reported that Rocha and a woman were attempting to push their vehicle off the highway when a truck collided with them from behind and fled the scene. Thanks to assistance from the female victim, authorities were able to locate the truck driver at a nearby residence on Boerne Stage Road. The suspect was arrested for Failure to Stop and Render Aid/Death.
Rocha was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
