Fatal Clay County motorcycle crash death of Douglas Nielsen – Obituary.
An Everly man lost his life in a motorcycle accident near Spencer, Iowa, on Wednesday. The incident occurred approximately five miles west of Spencer when Nielsen, 54, was riding his Harley-Davidson east on 350th Street and collided with the rear of a Chrysler Town and Country.
According to the crash report, the impact caused Nielsen to be thrown from his motorcycle, where he was subsequently struck by a Chevy Silverado traveling in the opposite direction on the same street. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene and later transported to a local funeral home.
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the incident, with assistance from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Fostoria Fire Department, and Spencer Fire and Ambulance Departments, along with Bud’s Towing.
