Fatal Greenville shooting death of Abbigail Callaham – Obituary.
In a tragic incident in South Carolina, a high school student named Abbigail “Grace” Callaham lost her life, while her companion, Thomas Kennedy, suffered serious injuries. The accident occurred on Tuesday morning as they were en route to pick up their 4-month-old child from daycare.
According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, both students were from Belton-Honea Path High School. They had just exited the school grounds when a large bird unexpectedly landed in their path on Clamp Drive. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the driver, in an attempt to avoid the bird, lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a tree.
Callaham, who was a 17-year-old junior, was not buckled in and was pronounced dead at the scene. In contrast, the driver, Kennedy, a senior, was rushed to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
