In a recent incident at Will’s Food Store in Mount Holly, North Carolina, no charges will be brought against a customer who fatally shot Victor Almodovar Jr. during an attempted robbery. According to a press release, the event unfolded on September 10 when Almodovar Jr., armed with a handgun, attempted to rob the grocery store. A customer present in the store, also armed, intervened and shot Almodovar Jr.
Following the shooting, he was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, as reported by law enforcement. Thankfully, no other individuals in the store were injured during the incident.
After a thorough review by the Gaston County Police Department and the District Attorney’s office, it was concluded that the shooting was a lawful and justified use of deadly force, leading to the decision not to file any charges.
