Fatal Chicago shooting death of Bryant Blake Wynn – Obituary
A 55-year-old man, identified as Bryant Blake Wynn, was fatally shot while sitting on his couch in his home in Woodlawn, Chicago. The incident occurred Monday night after his relative’s boyfriend instigated a confrontation with rivals outside Wynn’s home.
Wynn was watching TV around 8 p.m. at his residence on the 6600 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when the altercation escalated. Reports state that more than 24 gunshots were fired, and one bullet shattered the front window, striking Wynn. Though he managed to get up and walk a few steps, he collapsed shortly after. The shooters fled, and no one else was harmed.
Wynn was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m., with the cause of death being a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The confrontation was reportedly provoked by Wynn’s relative’s boyfriend, who had been taunting the rivals both the previous day and on the day of the shooting, leading them to come to the home and carry out the attack. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
