Fatal Mount Rainier shooting death of Freiver Yanez-Salas – Obituary
A 22-year-old man from Washington, D.C., Freiver Yanez-Salas, has been identified as the victim of a deadly triple shooting that occurred on Monday evening outside a liquor store in Mount Rainier, Maryland. Yanez-Salas was found with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle parked in the 3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other victims, a man and a woman, were also injured in the attack. They were critically wounded and taken to a nearby hospital for medical care. The incident has left the local community in shock, with residents deeply concerned about the rise in violence in the area.
Stephon Jackson, a local resident, expressed the frustration of many in the neighborhood, stating, “We see the police around here often, but it’s really up to the people to make a change if we want the violence to stop.”
In response to the shooting, the Prince George’s County Police Department has announced a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. Authorities are encouraging anyone with details to come forward and assist with the investigation.
