Fatal Brockton car crash death of McCarl Monestime – Obituary
A 20-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a fatal car accident that occurred in Brockton in the early hours of Sunday, September 1. McCarl Monestime, from Brockton, was behind the wheel of a white Acura sedan when the vehicle collided with a telephone pole on Pleasant Street near 610 at around 1:27 a.m., according to the District Attorney’s office.
Monestime and a male passenger were taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center, where Monestime was pronounced dead. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Monestime is remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and insatiable curiosity. His obituary speaks to the joy and light he brought to those around him, noting that even though his time was short, the love he shared will be felt forever. Monestime had moved to Brockton as a baby in 2004 and developed a love for anime, basketball, music, and car mechanics.
At the time of his passing, he worked as a mechanic at Woodward’s Auto Parts in Brockton and was pursuing psychology studies at Bridgewater State University. He had graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton in 2020 with a license in automotive and collision repair.
Monestime’s family described him as someone who never hesitated to work hard and always strived to build a future for himself and his siblings. His funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 12, with a viewing at Russell & Pica Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will take place on Friday, September 13, at Christ the King Parish in Brockton at 10 a.m.
