Authorities have confirmed the identities of the victims involved in the tragic crash in Price, Utah, that claimed five lives on September 26. The Utah Department of Public Safety revealed that the deceased include Sang Her, 56, and Lee Thao, 38, both from Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, along with Bee Moua, 26, and Mai Lor, 25, from St. Paul, Minnesota. Gustavo Mendoza, 35, from Helper, Utah, was also identified; he was the operator of the Honda ATV involved in the incident.
The accident occurred on US-6 at milepost 235 when a silver SUV attempted to merge from Spring Glen Road into the designated acceleration lane. Unfortunately, the driver overshot this lane and collided with a semi-truck that was hauling doubles. The truck driver attempted to swerve to avoid the SUV, but lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic. This led to a collision with the westbound Nissan SUV, pushing it off the road and into a rock embankment.
Simultaneously, Mendoza was riding his ATV along the westbound shoulder when he was caught in the crash. All four occupants of the Nissan SUV and Mendoza were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the silver SUV sustained minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital. No further details are available at this time.
