Fatal Louisville stabbing death of Olvin Jaziel Ramirez-Pena – Obituary
A man found stabbed to death in Louisville near Newburg has been identified by the coroner as 28-year-old Olvin Jaziel Ramirez-Pena. Police were alerted around 11:30 a.m. on Monday to the area near East Indian Trail and Petersburg Road after a passerby reported discovering a body. Ramirez-Pena’s body was located in a wooded area close to Petersburg Park.
According to a police report, Ramirez-Pena sustained multiple stab wounds, and his throat had been slashed. On Wednesday, authorities arrested 28-year-old Miguel Andrade Giron of Louisville in connection with the murder. Giron faces charges of murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.
At the time of his arrest, Giron was already in custody at Louisville Metro Corrections for unrelated charges. He had been arrested Monday night after police, who were aware of outstanding warrants, stopped him and discovered he was carrying a stolen gun. Giron reportedly admitted to having a fight with Ramirez-Pena, stabbing him, and dragging his body into the woods.
