Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a driver in the 1500 block of Columbia Street. On Sunday, October 15, shortly after 6:30 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire near Richmond Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 49-year-old Julius Brown of Richmond unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck, where he had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Investigations revealed that Brown was traveling southbound on Columbia Street when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree.
