The Metropolitan Police Department has identified 28-year-old Marc Butler Jr. as the victim of a shooting that occurred near Nationals Park shortly after the game began on Friday. The incident took place on September 27, shortly before 6:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest.
D.C. police responded to reports of gunfire and, while searching the area, were alerted to Butler Jr., who had suffered gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
