Fatal Birmingham shooting death of Traiquielle Raheem Chambers – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed the death of Traiquielle Raheem Chambers, 29, who was fatally shot in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of First Avenue West, where gunfire was detected by the city’s Shot Spotter system. Chambers collapsed on the street, surrounded by shell casings, and was pronounced dead shortly after at 9:49 p.m. Preliminary investigations suggest that Chambers may have been involved in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting and possibly returned fire before he was killed.
Additionally, Paul Justin Stanley, 35, was also killed on Saturday at a hotel in Fairfield. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Budgetel Inns & Suites, where Stanley was found and pronounced dead at 11:49 a.m. The suspect in Stanley’s case surrendered without incident, but no formal charges have been announced yet. The investigations into both shootings are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
