Fatal Montgomery County crash death of Brittany Shanks – Obituary.
The woman who lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday evening in Montgomery County has been identified as 35-year-old Brittany Shanks. The incident occurred around 5:59 p.m. at the intersection of Frederick Pike and Rivers Edge Boulevard, where Dayton police and fire crews responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities found that the vehicles had collided head-on. According to Dayton Police Department Traffic Services Unit Supervisor Gordon Cairns, it appears that one vehicle veered off the road, overcorrected, and crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the collision.
Shanks was driving one of the cars with three children in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while the children were transported to Dayton Children’s Medical Center. The other driver involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Dayton Police Department Traffic Services Unit, which noted that this stretch of road has seen its share of accidents.
