Seven people killed in fatal Warren County bus crash

New details have emerged from the tragic bus accident that occurred on Interstate 20 in Warren County, Mississippi, early Saturday, August 31, 2024. Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed that a commercial bus, en route from Atlanta to Dallas, overturned after a tire failure, leading to the deaths of seven passengers and injuring 37 others.
The bus, a 2018 Volvo, was traveling westbound when it lost control and rolled into an embankment just east of Vicksburg. A preliminary report is anticipated within the next 30 days, while a comprehensive investigation could take up to two years.
The Warren County Coroner, Doug L. Huskey, identified the victims, all from Mexico, as follows:

The bus was operated by Autobuses Regiomontanos, a company that facilitates transportation between the United States and Mexico. According to a spokesperson, all passengers are required to pass through immigration checkpoints and present valid identification for border crossing.
