Fatal Birmingham shooting death of Brandon Lee – Obituary.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place in the Collegeville Housing Community just before midnight on Saturday. Officers from the North precinct responded to reports of two individuals shot in the 3000 block of 30th Avenue N.
Upon arrival, they entered an apartment where they discovered a man and a woman both suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services pronounced the man dead at the scene. He has been identified as 35-year-old Brandon Lee. The woman was transported to UAB Hospital with serious injuries, but no updates on her condition have been provided.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting resulted from an altercation between Lee and another man outside the apartment. Police believe the suspect fired shots toward the apartment, hitting both victims, and that at least one victim returned fire, wounding the suspect. This suspect arrived at UAB around 1:40 a.m. with a gunshot injury and is currently in police custody facing potential charges of Capital Murder and Attempted Murder.
