Lochie Jacobs and Joey Urban die in fatal Dubbo crash
A man has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle collision that occurred near Dubbo, New South Wales, last week. The incident took place on the Newell Highway at Tomingley around 9:20 p.m. last Friday, involving a Toyota Hilux ute and a Toyota Hiace van. Tragically, two young men in the ute, Lochie Jacobs, 18, and his friend Joey Urban, 19, along with a couple in the van, Graham and Sue Tait, both aged 57, lost their lives at the scene.
Emergency services responded to reports of the crash, which resulted in the immediate death of all four victims. The driver of the ute, a 23-year-old man, sustained suspected leg injuries and was taken to the hospital. After being discharged, he was arrested and subsequently charged with four counts of dangerous driving causing death, among other driving-related offenses. He has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 21.
