Stephen Michael Prough, a 60-year-old man from Weldon, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 178 on Friday. The collision occurred around 5 p.m. when Prough’s motorcycle collided with a truck that was preparing to turn onto the highway from McCray Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Prough was traveling eastbound when the truck, which was stopped at a stop sign, initiated its turn. Prough was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have indicated that drugs and alcohol do not seem to have played a role in the incident.
