David Eaton, a 37-year-old man from Northwich, was found dead following a disturbance in Rudheath on Saturday, September 28. Emergency services arrived at Brook Lane around 3:35 p.m. and discovered Eaton with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In response to the incident, police arrested two individuals: a 41-year-old woman and 35-year-old Matthew Higgins, who has now been charged with murder and assaulting an emergency worker. Higgins, a resident of Brook Lane, was apprehended on the same day and is scheduled to appear before Chester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 1.
Cheshire Police have stated that the woman arrested has been released on conditional bail. Detective Inspector Eleanor Atkinson reassured the community that this incident is believed to be isolated, emphasizing that there is no ongoing risk to the public. To enhance safety, patrols in the area have been increased.
