Fatal Renton stabbing incident leads to the death of Kyle Dean Gray – Obituary.
Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of 65-year-old handyman Kyle Dean Gray at a Renton apartment complex on September 27. The suspect, K’Shawn Konscience Jimerson, was taken into custody after calling 911 to report that he had stabbed someone.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Gray’s death a homicide due to multiple stab wounds sustained within a residence. Police were dispatched after receiving a call indicating that a male handyman had been stabbed and was still conscious. Upon arrival, officers found Jimerson outside the apartment, covered in blood, and discovered Gray lying on the living room floor with severe injuries to his chest and groin.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument before seeing Jimerson emerge from the apartment with a bloody knife, described as a large butcher knife. The weapon used in the stabbing has not yet been located. During Jimerson’s first court appearance, prosecutors requested he be held on a $50,000 bail, and he remains in custody while the investigation continues. Detectives are actively pursuing the case, with a charging decision expected by October 2.
