Fatal Vero Beach incident leads to identification of Jeffrey R. Bartholomew – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man whose decomposed remains were discovered in a wooded area of Vero Beach as 46-year-old Jeffrey R. Bartholomew. The identification was made using dental records, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.
The body was found on September 11 near Old Dixie Highway, following reports of a deceased person in the vicinity. Police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, subsequently turning the remains over to the medical examiner’s office for further investigation.
While the investigation is ongoing, it remains unclear whether Bartholomew was homeless or if foul play was involved. The Medical Examiner’s Office is still conducting a full autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
