A tragic two-vehicle collision in Acton has resulted in the death of 76-year-old Roderick Thomas, identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The incident took place at 6:27 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Sierra Highway and San Gabriel Avenue, where officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered a dark-colored pickup truck that had collided with a white Nissan Sentra, which was severely damaged, splitting it in half. Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department pronounced Thomas dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, whose identity, age, and gender remain unknown, was transported to a hospital for treatment. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
