In a disturbing incident in East Mount Airy, Philadelphia, a shooting occurred on Monday evening after a meeting arranged via social media. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was shot shortly before 5 p.m. in an alley off the 1500 block of E. Johnson Street.
Authorities identified the shooter as 20-year-old Vanessa Graystone, who is considered armed and dangerous. Police noted that Graystone’s hair color has changed from blue to red. Initially, the victim claimed he was delivering food, but investigations revealed that was not accurate.
After the meeting, a confrontation broke out, during which the victim was shot in the back as he attempted to flee. Chief Inspector Scott Small reported that the victim heard gunshots as he ran from a person approaching him with a firearm. Six spent shell casings were discovered at the scene, leading police to believe the situation escalated rapidly.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and the victim was quickly transported to Einstein Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. Local residents expressed their concern over the violence in their neighborhood, with one man, Ezra Walizer, recounting how he rushed to assist the victim after hearing the shots.
