Doug Palmer dies in fatal Highway 101 crash in Santa Maria, California
Fatal Santa Maria Highway 101 crash death of Doug Palmer – Obituary.
A tragic accident on Highway 101 in northern Santa Barbara County claimed the life of 74-year-old Doug Palmer and left his 76-year-old wife, Kathleen Palmer, with serious injuries. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Monday when Kathleen was driving a 2016 Audi northbound just north of Highway 154.
For reasons still unknown, the Audi drifted off the highway and down a dirt embankment, ultimately overturning and coming to a stop at the bottom of the slope, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Emergency responders pronounced Doug Palmer dead at the scene, while Kathleen was airlifted to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. The CHP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and urges anyone with information to reach out to the Buellton Area CHP at (805) 691-6160.
