Fatal West Wisconsin crash death of Mark Holzer and Brian Shank – Obituary
Authorities have identified the victims of a tragic multi-vehicle accident in western Wisconsin that occurred last Friday. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident took place shortly after 10:30 AM, approximately one mile south of Nelson, near the Mississippi River, where a pickup truck crossed the centerline on Highway 35, striking two motorcycles. The deceased were 59-year-old Mark Holzer from Pine Island and 59-year-old Brian Shank from Chatfield, both of whom were close friends. A joint celebration of life for the two men is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Winona County Fairgrounds in Holzer’s hometown of St. Charles. A third motorcycle was also hit in the crash, but its rider sustained only minor injuries, and the pickup truck driver was unharmed. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
