Authorities have identified Robert George Roberts, a 68-year-old resident of Chandler, Arizona, who tragically died in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 South in Henrico County. The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on Monday.
According to the Virginia State Police, Roberts was driving a 2020 black Cadillac XT6 SUV when he lost control, ran off the road, and struck a ditch before becoming airborne and hitting trees on the driver’s side. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest upright. Emergency responders extricated Roberts and transported him to VCU Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with speed and alcohol being considered factors contributing to the crash. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
