A heartbroken mother is mourning the loss of her youngest daughter, Caitlynn Heron, who tragically lost her life when her car plunged into a canal in Cooper City on Wednesday morning. Blanche Pastore, Caitlynn’s mother, expressed her devastation, saying, “That was my baby girl… she had so many plans for the future. I just pray to God, he’s got his arms around her right now.”
The accident occurred around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Griffin Road and Southwest 90th Avenue. Caitlynn, 23, was driving when her vehicle crashed into the canal. Her boyfriend, 24-year-old Joseph Foster, managed to escape but Caitlynn was found deceased inside the car after divers responded to the scene. Foster was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The couple was identified through their matching tattoos featuring the angel number “222,” which symbolizes prosperity and guardianship. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the single-car accident, which involved an Infiniti G37XS, is currently underway. Authorities reported that the vehicle struck a raised sidewalk, collided with a small bridge, and then landed in the water.
“This is a very tragic and heartbreaking situation, and our hearts go out to the family of the young woman who died here today,” said Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carey Codd. Caitlynn’s family wishes for her memory to reflect the beauty of her life rather than the tragic end. “She was just a beautiful person,” her mother stated.
